Die kunstflugtaugliche T-28 Trojan ist ein von North American Aviation entwickeltes Trainingsflugzeug, das 1949 seinen Jungfernflug absolvierte. Nach erfolgreicher Erprobung ging die Maschine in Serie und wurde zunächst von der US Navy und später auch von der US Air Force eingesetzt.
Der freitragende Tiefdecker mit Einziehfahrwerk und einem Wright-Sternmotor bot Platz für Fluglehrer und Schüler in einer geschlossenen Tandemkabine.
Bis in die 1960er-Jahre wurden rund 1.200 Exemplare produziert, von denen viele auch an die Luftstreitkräfte befreundeter Nationen verkauft wurden. Die T-28 wurde nicht nur zur Ausbildung von Piloten, auch auf Flugzeugträgern, verwendet, sondern kam auch im Vietnamkrieg als leichtes Erdkampfflugzeug zum Einsatz.
Heute sind noch zahlreiche Maschinen flugfähig – unter anderem bei den Flying Bulls, die regelmäßig auf internationalen Airshows auftreten. Charakteristisch ist dabei der unverwechselbare Sound des kräftigen Sternmotors.
The aerobatic-capable T-28 Trojan is a training aircraft developed by North American Aviation, which made its maiden flight in 1949. After successful testing, the aircraft went into series production and was initially used by the U.S. Navy and later also by the U.S. Air Force.
The low-wing monoplane, equipped with retractable landing gear and a Wright radial engine, featured a tandem cockpit layout for the instructor and student.
Around 1,200 units were built until the 1960s, with many of them also being sold to the air forces of allied nations. The T-28 was not only used for pilot training, including on aircraft carriers, but also saw combat in the Vietnam War as a light ground-attack aircraft.
Today, many T-28s are still airworthy, including some that belong to the Flying Bulls, who frequently showcase the aircraft at airshows. A distinctive feature of the T-28 is the unmistakable sound of its powerful radial engine.
Das Modell / the model
Unser Modell ist ein Nachbau im Maßstab 1:4,5 und mit allen Scaledetails des Originals versehen. So sind auf den Oberflächen zahlreiche Nietenimitationen und Panel Lines angebracht. Das Modell wird in GFK/CFK-Vakuum-Sandwich-Technologie in höchster Qualität produziert.
Als Antrieb dient idealerweise ein 5-Zylinder Sternmotor (z.B. Moki 250 oder Valach R5-250), die bei der Trojan für einen unverwechselbaren Sound sorgen. Gänsehaut pur! Wem das zu aufwendig ist, kann aber auch einen Zweizylinder Boxermotor mit ca. 120 ccm verbauen.
Wir bieten für das Modell auch das komplette Zubehör wie ein elektrisches Scaleeinziehfahrwerk mit Bremsen, ein detailliertes Cockpit, einen passendes Beleuchtungsset und weiteres Scalezubehör an.
Our model is a 1:4.5 scale replica, complete with all the scaled details of the original. The surfaces feature numerous rivet imitations and panel lines, faithfully recreating the look of the real aircraft. The model is produced using the highest-quality GFK/CFK vacuum sandwich technology.
The ideal powerplant for the model is a 5-cylinder radial engine (e.g. Moki 250 or Valach R5-250), which delivers the iconic sound that made the Trojan so distinctive – pure goosebumps! For those seeking a simpler option, a two-cylinder boxer engine of approximately 120cc can also be used.
We also offer a full range of accessories for the model, including an electric scale retractable landing gear with brakes, a detailed cockpit, a custom lighting kit, and other scale-specific accessories.
